A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to nonexistent addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be amazingly easy if you have a cloud plan with us. You can enable the feature through our powerful, yet user-friendly Email Manager, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will administer your shared hosting account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you have set up listed alphabetically and next to each of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously show you if a certain mailbox stores all the email messages associated with a given domain name or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you want. If there is active email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will receive a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be enabled with ease in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in the account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a mini button handily located right next to each of them. With just a single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable the feature using the context menu that will surface. If any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
